sleepsim
A small artificial creature that sleeps like a person. Each part of its sleep and memory comes from a published study, and it gets checked against real human data. Step by step, this grows toward a human mind.
A day and a night
One creature lives a full day in a 12×12 world, finding food and water, then sleeps. Blue lines at night are memory replays: solid ones line up with slow waves and spindles and get copied into long-term memory. Orange squares are dream fragments during REM. The world wraps around at its edges, so a patch can show up split between top and bottom.

Where it stands
Forgetting curve
How much of a memory is left over a month, relative to 20 minutes after learning. People from Ebbinghaus (1885). The creature from a held-out test it was never tuned on, run once.
The bump at 1 day is sleep: the creature remembers more the next morning than 9 hours after learning, as people do (Murre and Dros 2015). This curve predates the early-forgetting fix in v13.
